**EHS Specialist: Monticello, WI
**
Our client is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to play a critical role in ensuring the organization’s compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to occupational health, safety, and environmental protection. This hands-on position is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving EHS programs that support operational excellence and promote a culture of safety, sustainability, and accountability. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a manufacturing or food production environment and is ready to lead safety initiatives that truly make an impact.
**Key Responsibilities:
**
Maintain and update OSHA-compliant programs (LOTO, PPE, HazCom, EAP, etc.)
Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are accurate, accessible, and up to date
Conduct safety inspections, job safety analyses, and hazard assessments
Lead investigations of incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions
Monitor safety training compliance and support audit readiness
Serve as primary contact during OSHA inspections; maintain OSHA logs (300, 300A)
Oversee waste disposal, chemical storage, and water discharge in line with regulations
Manage reporting and documentation for environmental permits
Coordinate hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal with vendors
Lead Safety Committee meetings and promote proactive safety behaviors
Partner with cross-functional teams (HR, Ops, Maintenance) to support EHS initiatives
Identify opportunities to reduce risks, improve safety engagement, and control injury-related costs
**Skills & Experience:
**
**Education
**: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field, OR hold a CSP or CIH certification, REQUIRED
**Experience
**: 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or related industrial environment, REQUIRED
**Knowledge:
**OSHA, Environmental, & Safety regulations & best practices,
** REQUIRED
**
**Software:
**MS Office & safety management systems, required

** $70,000+/year, depending on experience, + 10% annual bonus
