Under the supervision of the Personnel Supervisor II, Personnel Transactions Services (PTS), the incumbent independently performs a variety of support and technical functions that include general clerical work in support of the department's payroll and benefits workloads. The scope of the duties requires the incumbent to work independently and as a team member, provide excellent customer service, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality in performing assigned duties in alignment with the operational needs of the business area. The incumbent will be required to work in a fast-paced office environment, use a computer, and complete time sensitive workloads.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to clearly demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications and Alternate Range Placement for the position on your State Application (STD Form 678).   • Experience in Human Resources (HR) ensuring the security of confidential records by appropriately filing documentation in a secure location 
  • Experience auditing files to ensure filing accuracy
  • Experience with written correspondence (Ex. Receiving and responding to email requests, responding to customer inquiries, etc)
  • Clerical experience in an office setting (operating a copier, fax machine, scanner, etc) 
  • Organizational skills and effective time management to complete daily assigned tasks 
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of internal and external customers in a professional manner 
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes necessary to improve services provided to the customers 
  • Knowledge and experience using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) in a professional environment (work and/or school)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as program applications, reports, and procedure manuals 
  • Exhibit excellent time management, punctuality, and dependability
