Job Description

Assist in operating filling line to complete products for customer orders. Work in a manufacturing environment following appropriate policies and procedures to ensure successful execution of position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operating filling line equipment and packaging equipment, perform general inspections of products during operation, and pack off finished product.
• Perform packaging of finished product packages, make up corrugated boxes and partitions, pack finished product in boxes, seal cases manually, label or stencil finished cases with proper identification, and place finished cases on pallets using pre-determined case placements. These duties constitute about 40% of the workday.
• Monitor product cases to ensure proper weight and accurate packaging components, check machinery for film splices, breakage, and jams, and report any issues to the service machine operator immediately.
• Prepare work area for production, keep it clean and orderly throughout the work shift, place damaged product packages into proper containers, and discard trash.
• Start and stop production equipment as assigned during the shift and maintain a daily report on product, brand, type, and quantity produced.
• Support the SQF Program and promote food safety by maintaining housekeeping in the immediate area and contribute to an audit-ready department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Experience in production, labeling, general labor, packaging, and warehouse operations.
• Ability to read and write to fill out various production reports.
• Judgment to monitor the product and understand standard instructions.
• Ability to work effectively with others.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform required tasks.
• Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.

Work Environment

Personal protective equipment is required, including steel toes and pants, hair nets, beard nets, and safety glasses. No piercings or jewelry are allowed, and long nails and nail polish are prohibited due to GMP policies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chambersburg, PA.

The pay range for this position is $16.87 - $18.87/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Chambersburg,PA.
