Job Description

Hi, we’re Search Atlas ! We’re a rapidly growing SEO software company and full-service digital agency that helps websites improve their Google performance. From Fortune 500 companies to Silicon Valley startups, our clients trust us to drive results.

We're seeking a Lead Product Designer to serve as the senior design leader responsible for overseeing our design team and driving overall design strategy and execution. This is a strategic leadership role that balances team management, design process optimization, and hands-on design work. You’ll collaborate closely with executive leadership and the broader product team to ensure design excellence across all initiatives while mentoring and developing high-performing designers.

This role is based in San Francisco. We are opening our SF office in the coming weeks - and we'll be operating as a hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

Team & Process Management

  • Oversee and mentor the design team, fostering their professional development

  • Optimize design processes and workflows for maximum efficiency and quality

  • Plan and prioritize design projects in alignment with business objectives

  • Track project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time delivery

  • Maintain design documentation and assets for team accessibility

Design & Prototyping

  • Contribute hands-on design work including prototype development in Figma

  • Create wireframes and design specifications using Figma and Claude

  • Conduct and support focus group sessions and user research initiatives

  • Collaborate with Product team on discovery sessions

  • Stay current with design trends and industry best practices

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic design initiatives

  • Work closely with the Product team to align design with business goals

  • Communicate design decisions and rationale across the organization

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a design leader or senior designer managing teams

  • Expert proficiency in Figma (prototyping and wireframing)

  • Experience with Claude for design collaboration

  • Strong understanding of research and testing methodologies

  • Familiarity with analytics tools (Mixpanel, Clarity)

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities

  • Startup experience with demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with shifting priorities

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $160,000 – $185,000
